ConferenceStudent Project

Purpose of the Project:

The purpose of the special project is for TRIO participants to tell their story, highlight their community, and give face to the narrative of TRIO students in WESTOP SoCal. In addition, this will serve as a tool to highlight our participants at the WESTOP and national level including Policy Seminar.

The Special Project:

TRIO Talks

This year, students are being asked to create a 5-minute video that addresses how you are or your TRIO program(s) an Agents of Change?

The video should be the format of a Ted Talk, and delivered as a keynote address. Staff are not allowed to be part of video (no staff on camera), the keynote should be delivered by a student participant(s) of a TRIO Program. Students will be given creative freedom to execute these TRIO Talks, as long as they are appropriate. This means no cursing, no violence, and nothing of sexual/offensive nature.

Students can address the impact their TRIO program has had, or reflect on their TRIO journey, in which they learned something valuable they will carry with them. If the student is making a video in regards to how their TRIO program is an agent of change, please address the ways your TRIO Program impacts your community.
