Scholarship
The WESTOP SoCal Scholarship Fund was founded to assist first generation, low-income, disabled, veteran, and/or underrepresented students in completing their educational goals. The Student Leadership Scholarship award is $500. The awards are available on a competitive basis to graduating high school seniors and college students who are nominated by a current and paid WESTOP SoCal voting member.

Nominator must be a CURRENT and PAID voting member of WESTOP SoCal.

Each program may nominate only ONE (1) student for the 2020 WESTOP So Cal SLC Scholarship.
The nominated student must be a current and active participant in an Equal Educational Opportunity Program (EOC, McNair, Student Support Services, Talent Search, Upward Bound, Upward Bound Math/Science, Cal SOAP, EOP(S), GEAR Up, etc.).
High school seniors and college students must intend to enroll full-time (12 units) in an accredited college or university for the 2020 - 2021 academic year.

Part I: Scholarship Application and Part II: Nominator Form have been designed with the intent to have the Student and Nominator fill out / sign / submit at the same time. Please have documents such as personal statements, transcripts, Recommender Form and Recommendation Letter ready to upload to complete the application process.

-Nominator must be present when student is submitting application because nominator’s e-signature will be required.
Part III: Recommendation Form and Letter – Must be submitted from a counselor, professor, teacher, or any individual who can assess the academic aptitude and/or personal qualities of the scholarship applicant.
-The recommendation form can be accessed through the following link:

***Note: The student will have to scan and upload both a Recommendation Form and Letter of Recommendation from their recommender, so it is important that they obtain these documents before they submit their application.
