    • Expanding Disability Access to Higher Education Act (S. 1176). This legislation, which is co-sponsored by Senator Sherrod Brown, Democrat of Ohio, would require the Department of Education to use $50 million out of the underlying TRIO appropriation to fund supplemental grants to increase the number of students with disabilities served by TRIO
      
    • ​​The House Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS) released its FY 2020 bill. This committee is led by Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) and Tom Cole (R-OK). Thanks to their leadership, the bill includes a historic level of funding for federal TRIO Programs. Specifically, the bill provides a $100 million increase for a total proposed appropriation of $1.16 billion for FY 2020. This appropriation would represent the single largest increase in TRIO funding in a single year if passed in the final appropriation bill.
